What’s in Mrs. Hale’s Receipts for the Million 1857?

Well, I Haven’t Been Shopping
It’s been a crazy few months. Timber Rose came out in April about the time my wonderful mom turned 99 and then two weeks later took a turn for the worse. She passed away in May. In late June, my family gathered in Massachusetts to celebrate her life. It was a sweet time and actually a lot of fun as cousins and siblings gathered. She would have been happy with the beautiful piano pieces played at her memorial, all the ones she performed in her lifetime. Love you, Mom. Thanks for all you did for me, including introducing me to historical fiction when I was in 5th grade.
Sometime during this time, the blog had some interesting adventures of its own. Ever forget your password? That led to some fun times when I couldn’t get in. An old email long gone created a doppelganger of sorts. Took a bit of detective work, but all is good now. Thanks to Rochelle for helping with some sound techie skills.
So What is New?
Biggest news is that Tree Soldier is now in audiobook form. Very excited about that. I worked through ACX to meet narrator Jim Mentink. Just love how he has brought my novel to life. All the CCCs boys from New Jersey, Park Hardesty and Kate. Check it out. Amazon, Audible and Itunes. Great for listening on the road or at home.
If you leave a comment, I’ll do a give away through a random pick. Just need your email for sending the code. I’ll end the giveaway August 9th.
The reader’s theater version of Tree Soldier will also be coming back in November when I go to Mineral, WA to give my last Humantities WA talk on the CCCs. The Mineral School is located on the site (or next to it) of a CCC camp named Camp Mineral. So excited to have another reading and to meet the creative folks in this community of loggers, forestry folk etc.
This coming weekend, I’m be giving a talk up at Austin Pass at Mount Baker in Washington State.
So I’ll be catching up with you all. Take care.
I loved tree soldier…excited about the audio version, and planning on reading your newest as well. And, thanks for sharing your lovely Mom with us thru your blog.
Thanks for your kind words about Tree Soldier. I’m so glad you enjoyed it. The CCCs did so much for us across the country.
me please, looking for a book to take on the honeymoon. ;)
You’re in the hopper. Good luck.
What a busy time. Also, I am interested in winning the audiobook!
I would love the audiobook for my morning (and afternoon!) commute!
Debbie, I’ll have the book winging to you at the end of month. I have some family thing coming up.
Very exciting. The title of your book is intriguing.
